They come in 3's, or so I'm told...

And I'm really hoping that it is true because...

#1) Last Monday our basement flooded (This isn't a picture of our basement but it helps you get the idea)

#2) Then on Tuesday I broke my ankle while running to the car- this is the best that it looked!

#3) Finally, on Wednesday I drove through my garage (trying to drive with my left leg).  I know, I know, I'm never living that one down!  Unfortunately, this IS a picture of my house!

Seriously.  It can only get better.  Right?

Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Ok, the basement, that sucks. The ankle, I can see, but you should have avoided it miss track star. But the garage....let's just say I'll leave it at that because you are crippled and I'm being nice. And no, you'll never live that one down. That's fuel for the arsenal for a long long time. Hope you're feeling better sis. Get well so we can start kickin' it to November 14!!!

At least you sound in good spirits!! Nice you can still blog about it and keep a good attitude! Chin up, just think in a couple of weeks we will have a great time. Of course the first thing Chandler asked was "Will she still be able to do fun stuff with us when she comes to Utah?"

I'm so sorry! It has only been through the grace of heaven that I've not driven through my garage any number of times. You can walk me through the repair process when my luck runs out.

Holy Cow! Just think of it as an investment in something you'll be able to laugh about for the rest of your life. Hope everything is 'repaired' quickly. Hugs.

I am so sorry! I hope that your ankle recovers quickly and doesn't need surgery. Let me know if we can have Ava over for another playdate and let you rest a little bit. :) We'd love to.

There but by the grace of God go I.

TIme for a vacation to Utah. Nothing a good Hansen Family Lagoon Day won't fix... right?

(This is Kristine, BTW. It just isn't taking my Google ID for some reason. Hmm.)

I cant' believe we both broke our ankles this summer. I'm still not 100% yet. Put sure puts a damper on being as active as we want. How's the garage doing. Poor thing.( I mean you by the way :) )

Can't wait to see some new pics of your gorgeous kids.

Love you Carolyn:)

With the departure of my oldest child looming in my near future, I've been on the verge of my emotions for a while now.
Now I know that with all the modern communication available that we'll rarely be out of touch. And I know that we're going up to see her for Labor Day weekend too. It's not the end of the world.
But it sure feels like the end of childhood, the end of a major section of my life.

I can't help thinking of this constant list of advice ranging from quite practical to philosophical. Like these....

Tell a friend where you are going on a date and when you expect to return.
Don't put your bras in the dryer
Don't wait 'til the last minute to pick up your prescriptions
Churches love college students and will probably feed you
Call me every now and then
Don't count on the reliability of someone trying to sell you exam answers
Carry an umbrella - she'll be in Northeast Ohio
Don't forget that ultimately the purpose of this adventure is to study & learn
Eat vegetables every day - and not just pizza sauce

But more philosophically,
I wish for her an inner peace through the inevitable ups and downs that comes from knowing that I will always love her.

Any other advice you would add to my list?
