Book Suggestions Please

I just read finished the last book on my list and need some new recommendations please!

Last night I completed The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo and it was awesome. It isn't a new book at all (published in 1988) but for some reason it just wasn't ever on my radar screen. This book is in the very elite class of books that I immediately wanted to reread as soon as I finished (that does not happen every day, believe me). I hope that it has changed how I think about everyday life. Interested?

Emily, I loved The 13th Tale (and in fact, have enjoyed all of your suggestions). Does anyone have any other books that they can suggest? I need to read!

You should know better than to expect book recommendations from me ... that's what I expect from you :) I'll let you know if I hear of anything!!!

My latest recommendations: Gary Schmidt is coming to the BYU Book Symposium next Saturday, so I purchased a couple of his recommended books. I just finished The Wednesday Wars (Newbery 2007 Honor Book)and I loved it. Shauna read Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy (Newbery Honor and Printz Honor book) and she loved it. So, now we're switching our "loved" books -- even though they're both mine, ya know!!

I love Aart's comment. The Alchemist is a book club book coming up this summer I think. I'm leading the discussion so I would love to hear your thoughts (after I read it of course.) I sent you an email full of book recommendations, so look for it! Have fun!

mom already mentioned the books we are reading. (don't worry mom you will get your books back!) Before that I read the Fablehaven books, I am on the second one right now but put it down to finish Wednesday Wars (really like it so far). I have heard the Candy Shop War is cute by Brandon Mull. Remember my books that I read are not to deep like the Alchemist but still good reads. Did you read Hope was Here yet? That is excellent. I just sent you a book in the mail about a family that deals with Luemekia. I haven't read it but it was recommended to me. Enjoy! Love ya. Paul gave me the go to come and see you guys soon. When is a good time. we need to decide soon or he will take back his offer.

I'll be picking up this book tomorrow. I also am in dire need of some book suggestions! I'm sure you've already this, but just in case...I love, love, love The Other Boleyn Girl. I was hooked on this genre for about 2 years after reading it. Very saucy if you know what I mean :-)

I read a book by Dave Eggers a few years ago that I really liked: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. I haven't read anything else by him, but it was nominated for a pulitzer.

I thought of two more:
The Spirit Catches you and you Fall Down by Anne Fadiman
and
Complications by Atul Gawande
I loved them both!
